Karl Seth wins Bingo caller of the Year 2005!
Karl Seth, ‘the voice of Bingo Loopy, has been crowned Bingo Caller of the Year.
Karl won bingo's most prestigious prize in a final against five other of the country's top bingo callers.
He picks up the famous Golden Microphone trophy, £500 cash and a trip to Las Vegas and the west cost of America for two. On top of that he will have a guest position calling the numbers at a top Las Vegas casino's bingo hall.
Karl will now act as the bingo world's ambassador for 2006 and will be a judge at next year's competition.
Karl, 33, won the north-west regional heat in September and then went on to wow the thousands strong crown at the Catford Bingo Hall on Sunday, 27 September. More than 30 fans came down from his home bingo hall, Buckingham Bingo in Old Trafford, Manchester, to cheer him on.
A classically trained actor, Karl has won awards for his stage performances and has worked extensively across the UK and Europe with some of the biggest names around. He is married and has a baby daughter.
Last night he said: "It has been a whirlwind. I'm only just starting to come back down to earth now."
"Straight after I'd won I was hounded by the press," he said. "I've done interviews for Sky News, BBC radio, Channel 4, you name it, I've spoken to them.
He celebrated his victory with a late night out in London: "We went out for a few drinks and meal in London and it turned into quite a late night! I ended up text my entire phone book at about 4:30am"
"I am really honoured to have won the title and I think the next year is going to be amazing".
